While I rarely do reviews, I recently encountered a magnificent experience which demanded praise. A fortnight ago I was home visiting with family to share the celebration of a couple relatives' and my birthday's. The company of loved ones inspires an emotion which is difficult to overpower, but, while walking the streets of downtown Petoskey, Michigan, I stepped into a store which remarkably stole the attention of my heart. From the sidewalk, the store looked to be little less than outdated general store, having not seen its last renovation since the 70's or earlier. Walking up its steps, one could not refuse the authenticity of the building's age. As I opened the door and stepped into the building I was instantly overcome by unexpected emotion. Saturated in aw of the store's quaint, yet historic feel, I couldn't help but move my feet and let my eyes wander from aisle to aisle, learning what more the building had to offer. Beyond the vast spectrum of products ranging from deep rich chocolate to roasted nuts to spices used for cooking, I couldn't help but notice that this store was selling something that is becoming somewhat undervalued, and even difficult to find in the growing corporate America; it was selling culture. With the atmosphere gripping my entire heart, I wandered further, arriving near the back wall. Before my eyes was a wide display of cheeses. I could smell the delicious wheels through the glass encasing. The wide variety, imported from around the globe, was a shocking spectacle. Just when I thought my amazement had been pushed to its limits, the store manager dazzled me with her deep knowledge of every kind of cheese offered. But beyond her knowledge, she was gracious. She allowed me to sample nearly every type of cheese (I was there much longer than I would have imagined), and I was taken on a tour around the world by a symphony of taste. As I excitedly moved from cheese to cheese, the manager explained the location and the process by which it was made. Before leaving, I purchased numerous cheeses including Smoked Beemster (Holland), Gouda, Garlic Cheddar and many more. The experience left an impression in my soul which I can merely attempt to put into words. Symon’s General Store, a store which has revitalized my passion for cheese, is refreshingly spectacular adventure combining the worlds of culture and cheese. I would suggest making a trip to Symon’s General Store to anyone who enjoys the thrilling taste of cheese.
Question from a fellow cheese lover: Wensleydale cheese
Today another new person was introduced to iheartcheese.com, and like always that brings out the questions near and dear to every cheese lover. Have you heard of ___ cheese? This time I was completely baffled, not only had I not tried it, but I hadn't heard of it. Wensleydale cheese, what is that?
I quickly learned it's the cheese that is absolutely adored by a cheese lover I've known and watched for years, but never even realized how much we had in common. Wallace, who owns a dog named Gromit, is a huge fan of Wensleydale cheese (and cheese in general). His passion for this specific kind of cheese is known worldwide, thus bringing a fancy cheese made in North Yorkshire to Hollywood and the rest of the Wallace and Gromit watching world.
I'll leave you today with three links, check them out and learn more about this top-of-the-line cheese! Also, keep checking back to iheartcheese.com as we'll be doing another piece on the cheese in the future.
"If music be the food of love, play on..." William Sheakespear
Can't you smell cheese in that quote? Can't you feel the same spirit in the nib of musician as in the hands of a master cheese maker? If you can't see what I am talking about, then mix a grape and a small piece of blue cheese... close your eyes.. can't you hear this melody? Then try to add a drop of red chili to some cheddar that you previously melted... set it down gently on a piece of fresh bread... Feel the crust scratching your mouth just before the warm smoothness of the cheese heals it.. and finally as a solo violin comes the red chili to wake up your sense in the softness of your blanket.
My friends now is time to compose and to make up your own melodies... be creative, don't be afraid of new tastes, mix salt and sugar, drums and cello... Time to scout a new continent of taste.

Well today the cheese curd fever got me yet again, and of course they were great. The hosts of today's cheese curds came from Stub and Herbs in Minneapolis. As I already said the curds were great, but they received an unusual amount of special treatment when they were the only appetizer left off the half-off menu. Something needs to be done about that! However, they were still curds and still darn good. - Eat Cheese -
After months and months of searching for the perfect cheesepert, we've found him! Pierre-Henri is the man of the hour and the summer. A native of Rouen, France he is well versed in the ways of the cheese. PH (as he is known by) will be blogging about the beautys of cheese in his home country and talking about his cheese-filled experience both here in the United States and his other home-away-from-home, Canada. Stay tuned for an entry from PH in the coming days!
On my last trip up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I was able to enjoy something I have no idea how I have lived 22 years without. When you get to the Upper Peninsula make sure to take a quick trip through Baraga, a beautiful city found on Keweenaw Bay. While there you'll notice a little old fashioned place on the south side of town, that little old fashioned place is called the Drive In, and it's quite possibly the hottest spot in all of Baraga County.
I must admit that I'm not that fluent in their menu, however, as a known cheese lover I got a great tip. They said "Cheese Balls" and my ears perked right up. I've had cheese balls at other places and they are good eating, similar to cheese curds but they are much more consistent in size. I asked the question to those around me and they told me the same thing, little did they know, I already knew. ;)
Anyways, we got in and got a large bag of the goodies and I dove right into the deep fried goodness. They were absolutely amazing, definitely the best cheese balls I've had. A big thumbs up to the lady pulling them from the fryer as they were a perfect brown and just crunchy enough to please me and the crew of cheese lovers around me. I give these cheesy treasures an A and say it's a 'must have' for cheese lovers in the U.P.
With the change of seasons complete (even up north) that means it's an exciting time for cheese lovers. It is the season of cheese curds! The season is in full swing and we'll be checking in from cheese curd hot spots across the cheesiverse.
It started two weeks ago when I was visiting Summerfest in Anoka Minnesota, where a local church puts on an exciting weekend long carnival. Here I found delicious cheese curds that appeared to be the highlight of many people's nights. The volunteer booth frying them up wasn't full of experts; this was highlighted by no one knowing what kind of cheese was used. However that doesn't bother me, they were very excited, and the curds were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
The following week I watched a lot of youth hockey and kept myself busy between periods by munching down on some of the best curds I have ever had. They were deep fried to a heavenly golden brown by some local experts who man the stand all year long! (Sadly, curds are seasonal.)
With the Fourth of July coming and passing I had my fingers on cheese curds at several venues near the fireworks. The beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan had delicious curds, most likely shipped in from cheese-crazed Wisconsin.
The summer is far from over and we'll be checking in again soon with more spotting of summer's delight, cheese curds. If you catch some good ones be sure to take a picture and post it on our flickr page!
Last weekend half of the iheartcheese.com staff was volunteering at a velodrome bike race in Blaine Minnesota. The event was exciting and included some of the best fixed gear bikers in the world, including at least one rider who will be participating in the 2008 summer Olympics. However the highlight of the event for cheese lovers was the two-person team sponsored by America's Dairyland. These girls raced around the track with the best of them, but the difference (and the reason they succeeded more than most) was they had cheese backing them.
As my avid follower(s) know, this is my second summer in Kansas City. The obvious assumption of how the iheartcheese staff spends their summer is carrying out a rigorously dedicated training schedule to prepare for next year’s wolverines hockey schedule, but we all know what happens when assumptions are made… Instead of pumping iron to Eye of the Tiger and running marathons like I’m going to outpace Mr. Armstrong, I yet again find myself doing keyboard finger workouts in an agency cubicle. I know what you’re thinking; I even thought it myself. There is no better way to spend a summer! In all reality, the internship is starting off great. Seeing the world in the color “cubicle” long after work hours is a small price to pay for a great experience and a wonderful start on life.
For weeks now I've been trying to decide on how I wanted to go about this, and well, I'm just going to flat out say it as a warning to cheese lovers everywhere: Watch out for cheese breathe! The cheese always tastes good going down, it tantalizes the tongue before falling down the tubes of the body. However it doesn't want to be forgotten and is soon battling back in your mouth as a stinky stench that others around will notice in a heartbeat. If you're like me and are a known cheese lover, it's kind of expected. However, when I went to an interview about two months ago I forgot about it and went in stinking heavily in cheese breath. I was able to hide it enough and I still got the job, but watch out, it could get you! Remember to eat your cheese safely, and you'll be a happy cheese lover.

Well I finally did something I've been thinking about for years now, I bought that block of cheese that has four different flavors all molded into one. The flavors on this scrumptious block of cheesy deliciousness are/were colby, colby jack, mild cheddar and Monterey jack cheese. I had the mild cheddar and Colby jack today and enjoyed them very much, with crackers and salami they were a great addition to the Penguins/Rangers game on Versus. So far I'd suggest it as a way to get all the flavors you want instead of stuck with one block of just one. Eat Cheese.
A few times a week I find myself needing to eat on campus, in those situations I just head to the Union Building and get what looks good. Today I grabbed a slice of pizza and sandwich without any real thought. When i had to pay the guy says 'what do you got there?' I saw 'umm cheese pizza and grilled cheese.' Moments like that make myself smile, cheese was on my mind. In other news, shirt sales skyrocketed in November, and with the first week out of the way, might be matched in December. Check out our store to get one for yourself!
This is a weekly series called Cheesy Monday where a group of cheese fans gets together and tries one or two different styles of cheese. This week we got to try the beautifully yellow Double Gloucester cheese. The lovely staff at the Keweenaw Co-op informed me of the history of the cheese that was first developed in England and since has become popular throughout the states. It hasn't moved into a big-time time cheese within the country, but with the delicious taste, beautiful color and firm texture it would be a great cheese for most uses. However a relatively high price keeps it away from many uses. This is a cheese I'd suggest for anyone at their next cheese party. Click here to see pictures on our flickr group.
Today we received an e-mail from a reader, and for the first time in the history of iheartcheese.com we've made the front page of a local news paper. The Daily Mining Gazette out of Houghton Michigan published a picture with proud cheese lover Hillary Lucchesi proudly wearing her brand new pink iheartcheese t-shirt! Click here to view the picture, and paper.
This will be the first of a weekly series called Cheesy Monday. Every week I will highlight one type of cheese that is not typical for the average cheese eater. This week I picked Roasted Red Pepper Jack cheese, a cheese that is made by DCI Cheese Company of Richfield, Wisconsin. The cheese was packaged in a classic hockey puck type shape that was absolutely loaded with flavor. It was a cream color that is typical of a pepper jack cheese, but the excitement was the over abundant amount of Red Peppers within the cheese. These red peppers allowed for an overabundance of flavor where there usually isn't too much. The cheese was enjoyed by everyone that attended the meeting and will be placed on a list of cheese I will be buying for home. Thanks for reading, and check back next week as we'll unravel another type of cheese.
The other day in one of my classes we had a very enlightening recap of a cheese lover in France. The cheese lover brought a whole new dimension to flavor descriptions by saying this cheese was 'made from good ground.' I'm not completely sure I agree with that as a flavoring dimension, but the logic made me think that French people really know their cheese. The logic is simple.. cheese is made from cow milk, cow milk is made by cows, cows eat grass, grass is grown on the ground, therefore the ground helps decide the flavor of the cheese. Believe it.
Well the hackers have won the battle with iheartcheese.com. For the past six or so months a hack was enabled on our forums that automatically registered porn-linking bots onto our forums. This caused problems for our 'semi-family oriented site,' and now has officially ended the forums as a part of iheartcheese.com. Thanks to all those who made the message board fun over the past couple years, if you're having trouble with this shoot us an e-mail, eatcheese@iheartcheese.com.
What do football fans, men, women, and the grim reaper have in common? The obvious love for melted cheese. Today, as I watch the cheese Packers play football, I saw an excellent new commercial by Taco Bell where cheese lovers everywhere battle their way through a cheese filled burrito. Hopefully I'll get to try one soon.... I know I need to if the Grim Reaper loves it. Hopefully Youtube will show the video later, if so.. it'll be posted.
Well here I am in the lower peninsula of Michigan on vacation, and where did I eat? Only the best, Big Boy. These restaurants litter nearly every decent sized city in the area and feature a delicious salad bar that is watched over by the little man with red pants. (yes the same little man that helped Austin Powers into space.) Anyways, on this visit I found something that I'd never heard of before, Canadian Cheese Soup. When I asked about it no one really knew what to think, and even our very kind waitress wasn't quite sure. I was nervously excited to take a dip. However after a couple bites I realized the soup was pretty decent, nothing great, but decent. The cheese soup is a special every Monday for Big Boy (I had no idea, but the timing is pleasant.) Overall I'd give this cheese soup a C+, worth trying if you're stumped next time at big boy. Expect pictures soon, Eat Cheese.
It's been four years since you and I first met. At the time you were still a young, fresh website concerned with giving college students another way to procrastinate doing their homework by social networking with friends.
Initially, I was happy to have yet another medium of communication between myself and the rest of the world. Cell phones, pagers, email, instant messengers, land lines, smoke signals, Morris code, the U.S. postal service, mouth to mouth communication, and sign language; all pointless means of communication compared to what you had to offer. We could all spend days looking at the crazy pictures our friends had posted from the night before. For some reason it just never gets old looking at photos of people bonging a beer, doing a keg stand or passed out with drawings all over their face. Now that’s what life’s all about!
I loved you Facebook.com, but you’ve changed. After a few semesters of getting to know you on a very personal level, I started to realize that you might be headed in the wrong direction. It was no longer about having a few laughs and keeping in touch with friends, it was turning into something much more, something much worse.
As you know, I broke it off for about two years. Sure we had our occasional late night get-togethers, exploring each other for ways we’ve changed since we’d split. And those nights were fun, we shouldn’t lie to ourselves, but it wasn’t healthy.
Well, recently you talked me into starting things back up on a committed level again. I was a little skeptical at first, but there was no doubt you’d been doing very well for yourself. I should consider myself lucky; you’re extremely well known and average over 60 million unique views every month and collected $10.6 billion in revenue last year alone!
Unfortunately, I don’t think things are going to work out. You’re just starting to get….annoying. I’m bombarded with pointless gossip about who wrote what message to who and what two people are now friends every time I go to your site. I guess I just don’t care! Does anyone out there actually care to know about that stuff anyways?
Anyways, you need to just stop what you’re doing and take a good look in the mirror. You’re not MySpace, which is a good thing, so stop acting like it.
And what’s this I hear about you turning into a sellout? Word on the street is that you’re considering boosting advertising efforts on your site. Good idea! Because there isn’t enough going on when I log in anyways. Next time I want to feel like an epileptic on ecstasy that’s getting flashed with multi-colored strobe lights I’ll make sure to check out the news feed.
Anyways, I guess I’ve come to the point of my letter. You’re turning into the Darth Vader of the internet: you’re doing all the wrong things for what you believe is the right reasons. Sure you’re user base could potentially grow, but at what expense are you willing to let it?
I want to finish this article, but my fingers are getting sick of typing about facebook.
A quick statistic surrounding the article: 1 out of every 4 college students becomes addicted to facebook.com. Out of those students, half of them require serious psychological treatment in the following months.
Well it's finally the 21st of August, a day that I've been looking forward to for quite some time. It is the first time iheartcheese.com, and myself have been able to celebrate cheese day. To celebrate this glorious event I'll be ordering double cheese on any food I get today, along with snacking on the beautiful specimens of cheese curds I got last week from the Burnett County Cheese Store (thanks for the poster!). Cheese Day was officially created last week by a big cheese fan named Kassie in the lower peninsula of Michigan (coincidently the same area that the biggest winner in the national cheese conference was from!) Thanks for the day of honor Kassie, and I hope everyone enjoys it.
On my recent visit to the northern Wisconsin I found only one true cheese store, and another cheese cafe that pretended to be a coffeehouse. Anyways, the one true cheese store in the area was the Cheese House of Ashland. It's located right on the highway and can't be missed. Read more for the scoop on this Cheese store.
One thing I like to do is frequent restaraunts across my travels. Recently I was in Ashland, Wisconsin (not a huge cheese town, but they've got the Cheese House) and on the menu was 'cheese balls.' I was very excited to try these new things out in hopes of a whole new joy of cheese. However, when they came out they were something I'd seen many times before... cheese curds. I asked the waitress about them, and she said that they were cheddar cheese with light breading. The one thing that left me thinking that maybe I wasn't going crazy was that they were all in the same footballesqe shape. The discussion lead me to the realization that these were not some farm fresh Wisconsin joy, and instead they were little balls that came from a big box. That is very different from the cheese curds we've all enjoyed all fried up at our local county fair (it's that time of the year, anyone had any?) However, they were still good and still cheesey enough for me to recommend to other cheese lovers.
Breaking News Alert!!! Kansas is the only place on Earth that has hot summer weather!
"Really?!" you ask?
No! But people who live here seem to thing so!
There is nothing more irritating than mentioning, "wow, it's as hot as a greased up Heidi Klum out there today," and then hearing, "Welcome to Kansas!" in a snide, arrogant, and even somewhat "I'm better than you" voice.
Apparently, in the minds of the people who say this, Kansas is the heart of global warming and no one outside its borders has experienced high 90 degree weather. This in-fact is the opposite of the truth. Truth be told, Kansas is somewhat of an anomaly when it comes to global warming. Because of its distance from a large water source, Kansas is shielded from the harsh effects of global warming that coastal areas are forced to cope with.
Thats not the issue though. The issue is that people who attempt to con me into believing that Kansas is different from all other states, simply because of its weather, are annoying. I would rather listen to Rubben Studdard and Clay Aiken sing about whatever the hell it is they sing about than have to cope with the "welcome to Kansas" line.
At first I thought these people may have just realized that I was new to the area and believed I missed the massive welcome sign planted on the side of I-70. It didn't take me long though to realize that these people weren't being nice, they were just being stupid.
So, if you are one of these people, just stop. And the next time you find yourself in the middle of saying it, apologize and throw yourself in front of a bus.
On a side note: I bought a 10 pound bag of cheese last night for $12.50! I made out with the check out lady I was so excited!
Stupid Kids + Bad Parenting + Escalators = Quality Entertainment
About a week ago I was dragged to the mall to buy... I don't even remember, but I guess it doesn't matter, and about halfway through I decided to take a seat in one of those couches that only people who have been drained of emotion, energy and self respect sit in.
While contemplating which store I would rather be forced to go to next, I saw something that caught my interest: two unsupervised children walking the wrong direction on an escalator. My spidey sense kicked in immediately, allowing me time to switch couches to get a better view of the inevitable result of stupid behavior.
After about 5 minutes of 5-to-9-year-old giggling I had lost hope in the idea that one of the two kids would injure themselves. Not a second later, WHAAMMM, WAAAAAAA. One of the kids had fallen and cut open their chin on one of the metal steps. While the kid was wailing away, his friend/sibling just had the look of "I'm in deep shit" painted all over his face.
I'm enjoying the moment when all of a sudden the kids do exactly what I didn't want to have happen: they start walking in my direction. I started to panic with the fear of having attention drawn to myself in regards to being responsible for this kids self-induced misfortune. I attempted to look in the opposite direction and avoided eye contact with the two children, hoping that if I couldn't see them, they weren't really there.
With the whimpering obviously drawing nearer, I looked back at the kids to see they are now only 15 or so feet away and still walking in my direction. Now realizing the horrible karma of it all, I wished I had never left the comfortable couch to go have my leash tugged from store to store.
Just when I thought I was doomed to make contact with the children, a screeching woman came out of Bath and Body Works to save the day. I'm assuming they were her kids, but in being overjoyed to have avoided a close call, I didn't feel obligated to ask. The lady rushed off with both children, one with blood drizzling down the front of his shirt.
I guess there is no real moral to this story. But maybe people could learn from what happened. So next time you're at the mall and feeling tired, find a seat close, but not too close, to an escalator. You never know what kind of show you could wind up with.
This has been a ton of fun for me. As I sit here right now I'm nibbling on a little bit more of the beautiful white cheese. A quick recap of the situation: I was working one night and I met a couple from Sheboygan Wisconsin. They told me of Beechwood Cheese Company and their delicious Chicken Noodle Soup Cheese. I was stunned and excited at the same time, that night I went on-line and ordered away. A couple days later a man came and dropped off a box, and I knew I was about to be very happy. I opened it up and saw the beauty. A couple days ago I finally opened it up and enjoyed the delicious food. Read more for a recap of my cheese taste-testing fun, Or click here for pictures!
holy quick shipping! The packages have already arrived and the cheese looks darn good. Expect an update tomorrow or the next day on how the chicken noodle soup cheese goes. EAT CHEESE. (btw, anyone interested in fantasy football with iheartcheese.com should e-mail us: eatcheese@iheartcheese.com)
It's strangely ironic that the largest class-action lawsuit in US history is being formed by America's littlest citizens. But why? You'll have to read more to get the full scoop.
Currently I am working as a waiter in the small town of Houghton, Michigan. On a regular basis I meet tourists from all over the United States and World. Today I was lucky enough to meet a lovely couple from Sheboygan Wisconsin. We got on talking and the topic hit my favorite, cheese. They informed me of a wonderful cheese factory located near them in Beechwood Wisconsin. They continued to brag up the cheese they produce for another 10 minutes. They talked about the wonderful flavors and the fact that it is all real cheese. They suggested a chicken soup cheese, and I was stunned. chicken soup cheese? I had to try it. First thing I did when I got home was searched for Beechwood cheese, and I arrived at www.beechwoodcheese.com. The website had everything I hoped to find, including a place to order some cheese to bring home. Hopefully one of these weeks or months I'll be able to head down to Beechwood to get a taste of their "Almost Famous" cheese curd days, and take a tour where the magic happens. For now though I'm ordering a couple of my favorites (marble, curds) and am very excited to try chicken soup cheese. I'll report back when the cheese has safely arrived and started down the digestive track!

The following is an e-mail we recently received from a cheese lover that visited Italy. This testimonial will be up very shortly.
"My name is Tony from Minnesota. I noticed that our home towns are near eachother, similar to how cheese is so near to my heart. I have always had strong affection for cheese, and my love grew deeper when i was able to try local favorites in Milan, Italy. These is one thing i always yell at passerbys as i am am consuming cheeses. It goes something like "I double dare ya to try taking my cheese from me!" Best wishes, Cheese lover"
Ahh the offseason was short wasn't it? It seems like just yestarday we were ending the last season. However, the next season is less than two months away and we're looking to fill a couple openings in our league. If you're interested in playing please e-mail us, eatcheese@iheartcheese.com, with your fantasy football resume. If your interested in playing, but don't have any experience please send an e-mail anyways, we might get a second league going if their is enough interest.

This will be a regular piece on iheartcheese.com with the often times exciting and odd world that is search results for cheese. I'll be publishing my responses to websites, blogs, articles, podcasts, animation, or anything else that Yahoo provides me with. Today's search was for 'cheese games' the search brought me a ton of options, but I chose the familiar url. This is the website that has brought us many infamous games including the helicopter game and snowball fight. Many people come here and waste hours upon hours of their time, for what? For the pure joy of being the best. Read more to find out about the cheesiest game of them all.
This past week I was able to break away from the norm of school and make a short six day road trip. On this trip I was able to take a lovely drive through the cheesiest of cheese states, Wisconsin. I went by all the usual cheese shops that turn out to be magnets to my mind and body. This time I wasn't going fast enough because my blinker turned on and there I went into the parking lot. The place was huge! Huge warehouses in the back were homes to the processes of making cheese and also stored way more cheese than I can hope to eat anytime soon. I wasn't really sure what to expect, so no surprises as I looked around the cheesey store. Burnett Dairy Co-op has earned the title of World Champion Cheesemakers for several years now, and I won't be caught argueing that title. I was kind of boring this time around, but you can't always be exciting. I grabbed some scrumptious cheese curds, and a 10-pack of the worlds best string cheese. Both were more than amazing. In the future, it'll be hard for me to roll by without adding some cheese to my collection. Check it out if you get the chance, Burnett Dairy Co-up in Alpha, Wisconsin. Also a note to readers, expect to see a few more articles as summer break has started for the writers of this website.
This past semester I took a class on Creative Writing. It was a very challenging course for me, but I think I got a lot out of it. Anyways, this is a poem that I wrote for the class and was hoping to share with the cheese loving public. Any feedback is welcome, just don't be too mean ;).
Anyone else happen to log-in to www.facebook.com on April 18th or 19th? If you did you might have noticed the gift of the day, and that gift of the day was by far the best they've had to offer! Luckily for me, John Maki hooked me up with that sweet gift, something I was dieing to get from someone. The gift is a perfectly sliced piece of yellow swiss cheese with holes in it. If you get the chance, check it out, it's quite the piece of work, and maybe the only gift really worth giving during this holiday season.... wait.. what holiday season? Eat Cheese.
Easter is a beautiful time of the year to be with family and friends and enjoy the begining of spring. I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday, and hopefully you're taking this opportunity to eat some good cheese. Last night I got to eat some cheese dip with my chips, today I had a couple slices of cheese from Costco (that soirees raved about on the forums), for breakfast I had some cheesey scrambled eggs and only time will tell what kind of cheese I'll get to enjoy tonight! Enjoy the day.
This is going to be an continuing article type. About once a month we will start to put out a song that has been "cheesemixed." For the first of the series, click read more
I've often times wondered the full range of love that cheese has produced and/or felt over all the years. On my limited travels of the United States and Canada I've seen cheese everywhere I've been, but some places more than others. In my extensive travels through Wisconsin I've seen cheese on the highway, in the gas stations, in the super markets, even at the hockey rinks! However, on trips to southern states I've seen cheese to be a less and less popular thing. When in Texas on my last trip I was disappointed at a couple restaraunts when I was not offered a choice in cheese on my cheese burgers, but was relieved with the mexican food that was heavily assisted by the beautiful addition of cheese. Now my question is this, what do you see from cheese accross the nation, continent, and world? I'd love to hear from anyone that has some insight, e-mail us, check out the forums, or just post a comment here and let me know!
For my entire life I have been eating, and enjoying string cheese. I treat it like I treat most small pleasures in life; I enjoy every bit of it, eating it how it was meant to be eaten. Now-a-days I rarely by string cheese, but when I do I am almost always disappointed. The actual act of pulling off strings of it doesn't work like it used to, and that was always my favorite part of string cheese. This is especially true when buying the individually packed string cheese; I have never run into a good string cheese that was individually packaged. Last night I had my first strips into a present from a family member, and was happy to see that the large package of string cheese I was awarded is perfect! It was everything I wanted it to be as I pulled it into a million strips of pure joy. Hopefully this is just the start of a string of good luck for me and my string cheese. Has anyone else noticed this to be true? Vote on the forums, and let your opinions fly.
With the addition of our facebook group last month we saw several exciting posts about peoples favorite cheeses or interest in cheese. One post struck me as amazing, and it has been added to the testimonial section of the website. Thanks to Caleb for those excellent words, and remember if you want your story posted, e-mail us!

Ya ya, i know, i know, what if they won, what if they lost, what if, what if, what if? This past weekend the "Big Dance" was chiseled down from 64 to 16 and to be honest all of my brackets are destroyed. However, thats why i like the tournament so. It has the ability make you cry or die, you just never no, anybody can beat anybody. Well why didnt i pick the other guys? Read line one. Go Wisconsin!!! :'(
It was approximately 5 pm on a Sunday when it happened and to my surprise it was absolutely nothing how I expected. We all have these T.V. made fantasies about the cupboards spewing out glasses, silverware, everything breaking and falling over and the road cracking and people falling into the abyss and basically just chaos minutes on end. However, the one I experienced was measured a 3.5 (what exactly it means, well you can just google it and save me the effort) and to be honest all it felt like was someone had crashed a car into the side of a building, like a loud, very deep boom, but you felt it more the heard it. It only lasted maybe a second, all of my neighbors came out and stared at each other and no one really knew for sure what had happened, so we exchanged awkward eye contact and ran back inside and that was that.
Life goes by on a moment to moment basis, and some of those moments end up being reminders of the good life we live. Some of those moments help me to realize that cheese is awesome. Yestarday my girlfriend and I were at a chinese restaraunt enjoying the wonderful food and flavors, when I realized there was little to no cheese in my food. It saddened me a bit, but I realized I can do without, sometimes. Then, from behind me came conversation of a birtday gift, the gift was a 50lb bag of shredded cheese! I was stunned, what a great gift! They went on to say it was a bit obsessive, but she enjoyed it none-the-less. Next time you have a moment in your day that involves cheese, let us know, eatcheese@iheartcheese.com.
This will be a regular piece on iheartcheese.com with the often times exciting and odd world that is search results for cheese. I'll be publishing my responses to websites, blogs, articles, podcasts, animation, or anything else that Yahoo provides me with. This time the search will be for ‘grilled cheese,’ from there I clicked video. The top result was Grilled Cheese to the Grill. The video’s description read ‘Joey Chestnut eats 25 grilled cheese sandwiches really fast.’ From there I was stunned

If you remember back nearly two years, there was an article written about Mike's and my vacation down to North Carolina together. The article told about our trip down, the vacation itself, and the trip back. Well, on the trip back, if you remember the origanal article, we happened to hit a deer. The accident was completely unavoidable by both Mike and I, as well as the deer. In a later article the name of the deer was released... His name was Hooves. And this is his story.
Sorry about the lack of articles lately. Due to our college schedules, we have all been a little stressed out lately. We'll have an article up this weekend at latest. Also, just to get your gears turning, if you're good with photography or adobe photoshop, now might be your chance to get noticed on iheartcheese.com. We will soon be holding a competition where the best cheese related background sent in will be posted in the "cheese me!" section. We'll get more info to you soon enough about the details.

Life goes by on a moment to moment basis, and some of those moments end up being reminders of the good life we live. Some of those moments help me to realize that cheese is an important thing to life. Yesterday while waiting for my Editing class to begin I heard one student on the opposite side of the room say "America voted american cheese the best cheese in America last year." I heard this stat and quickly was amazed at the thought, and surprised at the disgust in the girl next to him who obviously disagreed. It appeared that she was eating american cheese, but she plainly said she much preferred cheddar cheese. Can you blame her? I can't. After a few rounds of 'well my favorite is...' we finally agreed to disagree. Next time you have a moment in your day that involves cheese, let us know, eatcheese@iheartcheese.com.

After finishing the season with 130 points more than the next highest team, black&BLEU sailed through the playoffs, beating each of his opponents by double digits. Congratulations to Chris Vitton who anchored that team! With a second place finish was Alligators w/ Talons who started the season hot, and also finished the season hot upseting Bab's Boys in the semifinals and losing by just 14 points in the finals, mostly due to a faulty trade with BLEU that clinched him the victory. Finally the third place winner was the Dongers, well done. Good season everyone, we look forward to seeing all of you and more again next year.

California trying to steal the one thing Wisconsin has
California seems to get all the attention. They have some of the best music, they have great weather, they’re supposedly going to be breaking apart from the rest of the states, they have Hollywood and they have over 15 professional sports teams. You’d think getting all the press in the world for those things would be enough for one state. However, it’s not. Read More to read the rest of the story.

Well many people have taken the trip from the Mackinack bridge in Michigan to many different destinations (wisconsin, marquette, houghton, etc.) but how many people have noticed the best sign along the route, or maybe stopped to take a look at it? Well one such onlooker took a picture of it, and now you can find it by looking in the cheese photographs. Thank you Jill for sending us a picture of the best sign on the road.
No I'm not talking about any of the pasty signs, or any of the crazy tourist traps along the route. I am refering to the picture that makes each and every one of us smile! Check it out in the Cheese Me section!
